Library

From its early days in the basement of the Cherokee County Courthouse, to its home since 1974 at 310 Mary Street, the Cherokee County Public Library has served the information needs of residents and guests in and around Cherokee County. We offer services ranging from fax and interlibrary loan to our large genealogy room. Here you will find a program slate for children, teens, and adults, a 20 station computer lab, and access to a continually changing collection of materials.

Thank You

We couldn’t accomplish our goals without the help of supporters like you. Thank you for all of your support! Whether it’s physical or monetary contributions or your time as a volunteer, we at CCPL appreciate all of our patrons. We are here to serve you!

Our Local Library

What does the library include?

Adult fiction and nonfiction area/1st floor:

So many books, so little time! Enjoy books from our fiction and nonfiction sections. We even have sections earmarked for large print and western. Don’t want to commit? Try the spinning rack of paperbacks. They work on the honor system. Just take it, read it, and bring it back! We have an audio section for your listening needs. Drive while listening to the newest thriller, or clean house while hearing a person’s biography; multitasking at its finest.

Children’s Department

Have you checked out our children’s department? It is a bright, cheerful area with board books, picture books, and libros en español. In addition, there is a play area with a playhouse, train table, and tables to sit and encourage a lifelong love of learning and reading.

Juvenile Department

Welcome, all tweens and teens, to the juvenile department. Come check out chapter books and graphic novels in an array of subjects in both fiction and nonfiction.

YA Room

Where YA books, manga, and classics reside together in harmony. (You don’t have to be young to check these out. Try one! – you might be surprised.)

Computer Lab

More than just books! Did you know that we provide other services? Computer Lab is located upstairs with 20 computers for your browsing and printing needs. Copying, scanning, and fax services are also available.

Genealogy Department

Discover your roots! Dig around in our genealogy department to learn about the past. In addition to county history, we have census records, books from numerous states, and family histories. Patrons can access Ancestry.com and FamilySearch.com library editions at the library.
